Our mission
We help the businesses behind Chrome extensions grow deliberately: to understand what attracts users, what holds growth back, and which decisions actually produce a result.
What we do
cwspy.com brings together the signals that matter for an extension's growth: visibility in the Chrome Web Store, competitors, listing changes and user feedback — so you can see the reasons behind the growth and decide with more confidence.
Accuracy and private data
We work from verifiable data, we are open about its limits, and we respect privacy. Being open about limits means naming them: we cannot see installs by source, revenue, or any analytics the store keeps to the account owner. We never ask for access to your developer account, and we treat the data of our customers and of their users with care.
How we measure, and where we stop
- Positions are recorded per search language: the store answers differently depending on the language a query is typed in, and a single global number would be misleading.
- Past the top 30 we show "30+" rather than an exact rank. A precise number that deep would be noise pretending to be data.
Where our articles come from
Everything we publish comes out of running this product: watching how store search behaves, and tracking listings as they change. When we describe how something in the Chrome Web Store works, it is because we have watched it happen across a catalogue of more than 258,000 extensions — not because it is documented somewhere.
That cuts both ways. Google publishes no rulebook for store search, so we mark the difference between what we have observed, what we infer from it, and what we simply do not know. An article that guesses says so.
Contact
We are open to questions, ideas and collaboration. Write to us through the contact form — or email us at [email protected] — if you have spotted an inaccuracy, want to share a problem you are working on, or can see how to make cwspy.com more useful.
