cwspy.com is a Chrome Web Store rank tracker. It follows where an extension sits in store search for the keywords you choose, how its user count, rating and version history move over time, and how the competitors in the same category compare — the numbers the developer dashboard does not show you.
Where the numbers come from
Everything shown is read from the Chrome Web Store's own public pages — the same pages any visitor sees. Positions are recorded per search market, because the store returns different results in different regions and a single global number would be misleading. Nothing is estimated or modelled: if a figure is on screen, it was observed.
What it does not do
- It never asks for access to your developer account. You add an extension by its ID or store URL, exactly as you would look it up yourself.
- It cannot see anything private — not your installs by source, not your revenue, not anything the store keeps to the account owner.
- It does not report uninstalls from the store, because the store does not expose them. Departures are only visible if you collect them yourself when a user leaves.
Who it is for
Extension developers who want to know whether a listing change moved anything, teams tracking several extensions at once, and anyone doing store SEO who is tired of guessing. If you publish an extension and cannot currently answer "where do we rank for the terms our users search?", that is the gap this fills.
